Help - Tuna & Egg Salad Recipes
Hubby likes tuna salad and egg salad. I do not like either of them, nor does Taylor. However, being the lovely domestic goddess that I am (quit laughing) I told Hubby I would make him some during this hot weather. He said they had both of those things a lot when he was growing up and it was really hot outside.
So - I need your help readers. I can find lots of recipes at various websites, but I want to know what is your favorite recipe for either of them. Do you have a special ingredient that makes them extra yummy? The only thing I know for certain is that he does not want celery in either of them. He feels the only purpose for celery is to hold peanut butter.
Thanks for any suggestions, ideas, and recipes you are willing to share!

Robyn, I love tuna sandwiches. I'm a purist, though -- I want as little as possible to come between me and my tuna! I only use water packed tuna (drained, of course), Miracle Whip, and, if I'm feeling adventurous, a chopped hard boiled egg. Serve on white bread with lettuce. End of story! :) I've had tuna salad with various pickles and other additives, but those take away from the taste, in my opinion.
Can't help with the egg salad!
I love egg salad sandwiches!
I make mine with boiled eggs (of course), relish, miracle whip, and black olives.
And I toast the bread before putting the sandwich together.
I don't eat either, but I'm curious to see what you end up with. I think I can get everybody else eating that--good proteins!
I'm not a big fan of egg sandwiches or tuna sandwiches but I do like egg salad occasionally and tuna salad on its own :)

I like both. Tuna salad I ONLY use white water packed tuna. Light tuna in oil looks and tastes like cat food to me! Ha Ha. I mix it with a little relish, Miracle Whip and finely chopped celery. Then I toast the bread and put some lettuce on the sandwich.
Egg salad, I use chopped boiled eggs, Miracle Whip, a little mustard, some finely chopped celery, and maybe a little relish. Add some salt and pepper to both salad mixes.
Tuna salad doesn't need much in the way of additions. Water packed tuna, mayo and a little mustard, chopped hard boiled egg, pickle relish and some finely chopped celery.
We don't do egg salad.
Picking the right tuna is the most important thing....white tuna and water packed. We use Miracle Whip Salad Dressing but if your husband prefers Mayonnaise, use that. Our family likes sweet pickle relish so I put that in also. Is there a particular type of pickle or relish your husband likes? If so , go with that.
I make weird tuna salad, some like it, some don't. I use Kraft Cucumber Ranch dressing instead of mayo, red onion, scallions or green onions, very small amount of red and green bell pepper, coarse ground black pepper, paprika, ground mustard...you get the idea and can almost call it kitchen sink tuna salad. I use both celery and celery seed. He might or might not like the celery seed. I don't think it has a strong celery taste, but I like the way it adds to the texture.
we like mayo, pickles, and onions!
I love tuna on toast it is my fave. I do it the easy basic way which is - mayo and a little relish added to the tuna. My kids do not like onions too much so we do without that in it. For me, the lesser ingredients, the better.
