Homeschool Resources
We are back to our "regular days" for homeschooling for the new school year officially now. I thought I would share a few finds I've come across when planning lessons.
- Founding Documents - Collection of documents such as the Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. Has several formats of many items, including text based and image based.
- Homeschool Writers Contest Chart - Listing of multiple writing contests available to homeschoolers (and others). The chart includes age/grade levels, prizes, end dates, topics, and more. Kids who enjoy writing will like this as well as the kids who are more reluctant because they may be encourage by the prizes. My son has won a few things with short essays over the years.
- Graphic Maps - Clip art of maps, flags, etc.
- National Atlas - Printable maps

Congratulations to your son; is he an aspiring writer?
I'm not really sure, he is very good at it when he puts effort into writing though. He does this great fictional interviews that are fantastic!
He must get his gift from his mother :)
Great finds, thanks! I think I might even go check out the writing contests... not to enter!! But would be funny to pit myself against 4th graders, they'd probably have me in last place. ha, ha. laurachilton {at} hotmail {dot} com
